In 2016, two friends noticed a bug in the way companies were managing their processes: too many repetitive tasks, too little efficiency. They decided it was time for a hard refresh , so they started building software solutions that make work simpler, clearer, and, why not, a bit more fun.
The name Cicada comes from the famous cryptographic puzzle Cicada 3301- a challenge designed to bring brilliant minds together. That’s exactly what the founders set out to do. Only instead of secret codes and conspiracies, they focused on building custom software, tailored to your needs. When they came together, digital magic followed.

Bogdan Rus isn't just the CEO of Cicada Technologies - he's the connector, the one who brings ideas, people and technology together to build something truly valuable. With a PhD in telecommunications, over 30 scientific papers and years of experience in research and software development, Bogdan understands how complexity works - and, more importantly, how to simplify it.

Outside the office, Bogdan shares his passion for technology with students at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and creates opportunities for future generations through ITLAB- a project that equips schools with IT resources in areas with limited access to technology.
